Rumours are mounting onsite that Kings Of Leon are set to play this summer’s Glastonbury.
Ah, festival rumours. Is it really possible to get 100,000 into a field without fevered speculation on who is / not going to be playing? Glastonbury is barely into top gear, but already bands across the world are being linked with a guest performance.
Pulp were widely linked with a special set, following their reformation earlier this year. Set to play a series of British shows this summer, a date on Worthy Farm was sadly absent from their schedule.
Could Jarvis & Co. be set to make a surprise appearance on the Pyramid Stage? No word as yet, although Pulp join an increasing batch of groups linked with a guest set.
Elsewhere, The Killers have been linked to Glastonbury. The band are currently in the UK preparing for a slot at Hard Rock Calling, but some fans feel that the Las Vegas outfit could drop by Somerset.
The strongest speculation surrounds Kings Of Leon. The Followills are definitely in the UK, with two sold out shows in Hyde Park to contend with. Support acts included Mona, Paul Weller and White Lies as the Nashville band stormed through their back catalogue on two consecutive nights.
Playing to countless thousand fans, Kings Of Leon are set to launch their summer with a bang. Yet if rumours are to be believed, the group could be preparing for a surprise set at Glastonbury.
The evidence? Well, ClashMusic snuck backstage yesterday (June 23rd) and noticed that there was a strange atmosphere. Rushing past was a workie clad in a Kings of Leon tour vest.
