Kings Of Leon Reclaim Top Slot
Album rises to number one
Southern indie royalty Kings Of Leon have reclaimed the UK number one album slot as their record 'Only By The Night' knocks Take That off pole position, it has been announced.
Undoubtedly one of the band's of 2008, Kings Of Leon ruled the roost with a series of stunning singles and the massively successful album 'Only By The Night'. In fact the band are so popular that they still have two tracks in the UK Top 40 singles chart. The band have had enjoyed a New Year boost, with their acclaimed album rising to steal number slot away from Take That.
Also in the upper reaches of the album chart are more of 2008's biggest acts, with Duffy, The Killers, MGMT and The Ting Tings also enjoying a boost from those end of year polls.
Over in the singles chart Lady Gaga has reached number one with her track 'Just Dance'. Finally knocking Alexandra Burke's record breaking single 'Hallelujah' off the top spot, it is worthy of praise for that feat alone.
Also riding high in the UK singles chart is American rocker Kevin Rudolf with his track 'Let It Rock'. Joined by the linguistic skills of Lil' Wayne, this is one rap / rock crossover that really works.
