Guns 'N' Roses Beaten
Las Vegas indie icons The Killers have sensationally beaten Guns 'N' Roses in one of the year's most closely fought chart battles, it has been announced.
The Los Angeles rock icons were releasing their first album in 15 years. The hugely popular group had been thought a shoe-in for the top spot, but those pundits had not reckoned on the sheer sonic force of The Killers.
Brandon Flowers & Co. sits at number one with new album 'Day And Age'. Further down the chart US hip hop icon Kanye West went in at number 11 with his latest effort '808s And Heartbreak' while Chris Martin's Coldplay saw their new EP 'Prospekt's March' zoom into number 38.
Over in the singles chart, Take That rule supreme with their new song 'Greatest Day' going straight to the top. Recalling their 90s zenith, the group's new album had shattered all online pre-order records. Back for good? Looks like it.
