Seymour Stein snaps up British group

British group Kill It Kid have signed a new deal with Seymour Stein's Sire Records imprint.
Seymour Stein's name sticks out in rock history. Having signed the likes of The Ramones, Blondie and more to his Sire Records imprint, the label boss must know a thing or two about new talent. Hell, Belle & Sebastian even wrote a song about him.
The latest signings to Sire are actually British. Bath based blues rockers Kill It Kid have won acclaim with two studio albums, fusing a frenzied Delta atmosphere with layers of tortured grunge effects.
Now the band have parted company with record label One Little Indian, signing a new deal with Sire. Currently the only British group on the label, Kill It Kid are working on new material with producer Mike Crossey.
Frontman Chris Turpin explains: “Kill It Kid are honoured to become part of the Sire/Stein story. We are proud to join a roster with a legacy synonomous with the development and growth of great British bands and have been moved by the sincerity and honesty that Warner Music and Sire have displayed. To have a respected music industry legend offer such personal support and belief in our creativity is a little overwhelming".
"We are excited and determined to leave our mark over the coming years. This moment will be something that we, as musicians, will cherish forever.”
Kill It Kid's next London show is at XOYO on November 6th.
