Keane Break America
Band Hit Top Ten
Timid trio Keane have found stunning success in the United States with new album 'Perfect Symmetry', which has reached number seven on the Billboard album charts.
Tom Chaplin's band of polite young men may be set for global stardom, with Keane's new album 'Perfect Symmetry' hitting number seven on the American charts. Keane had taken time off due to Chaplin entering rehab, and this triumphant return has confounded their critics and delighted their fans.
The current number one in America is Kenny Chesney with 'Lucky Old Sun' with laid back troubadour Ray LaMontagne hitting number three with 'Gossip In The Grain'. LaMontagne's soulful voice has made him a cult favorite, but this is the singer's highest chart placing to date.
Keane are the latest British success story in the American charts. Oasis breached the Top Ten with their new album 'Dig Out Your Soul' but promptly fell down to 35. Other massive British successes recently have been predominately female - Amy Winehouse, Josh Stone and Leona Lewis have all scored highly in the charts recently.
