Kasabian Remain At Number One
Score second week at the top
Leicester indie giants Kasabian have managed to hold off competition, with their album 'West Rider Pauper Asylum' remaining at the top of the charts.
Kasabian are now one of the biggest groups in the country. Taking time off to record their second album in the United States, the band returned earlier this year with a series of stunning shows.
Playing massive hometown events, Kasabian took over the historic De Montford Hall unveiling their new album before thousands of fans. A concept album, 'West Rider Pauper Asylum' is perhaps the band's most musically adventurous effort yet.

The group previewed the album with the download track 'Vlad The Impaler'. Follow up single 'Fire' has already become an anthem, prompting chaotic scenes whenever it roars out of the speakers at shows.
Kasabian are currently touring the UK as support to Oasis. Possibly the only band in the nation the Leicester group could act second fiddle to, the dates are some of the biggest the Manchester band have played in a decade.
However the 'West Rider...' group are also playing a series of headline shows. A recent jaunt in Dundee saw the band on fine form, with Kasabian sprinkling some past favourites in with their stunning new material.
Kasabian fought off some sterling competition to hold onto number one slot. Paulo Nutini released his second album 'Sunny Side Up', and the ever popular Scots singer was followed by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's 'Greatest Hits'.
The Boss will be in the country shortly for a series of massive shows, including his first ever British festival appearances. Headlining Glastonbury, Springsteen will also pop by Hard Rock Calling in London for what are sure to be emotional performances.
Further down the chart, George Harrison's 'best of' selection 'Let It Roll' enters the chart at number four, while Kings Of Leon are still in the Top Ten with their hugely popular album 'Only By The Night'.
