Kasabian Play Heaven
Rare club show for indie titans
Leicester indie giants Kasabian have played a rare club show in London's Heaven.
Kasabian have moved up a gear. Perhaps its due to their stunning new album, or possibly their performances on the enormous Oasis tour earlier this year but the band seem to taking giants strides across the country.
Filling arenas at a whim, the band are set to launch another nationwide jaunt later this month. However Kasabian took time out to play a very special show at London's infamous Heaven nightclub.
Playing a stripped back version of their recent arena set, the band seemed to relish being back in such intimate surroundings.
"This makes a bit of a change from the arenas, I like it!" declared frontman Tom Meighan. Famed for its atmosphere Heaven was in party mode from the off with Kasabian opening with 'Julie & The Mothman'.
Playing a number of tracks from their recent album 'West Ryder Pauper Asylum' the band also dropped in some classic hits. 'Shoot The Runner' had the crowd moving before 'Empire' saw the band surrounded by atmospheric lights.
Ending with Vlad The Impaler Kasabian were on sensational form. Backed by Crystal Fighters and Manchester group Delphic, the event was to launch new internet service MySpace Music.
