Kasabian On New Material
Daft Punk meets The Clash, apparently
Leciester's hairy knuckled rock 'n' roll combo Kasabian are on the war path, talking up their new album and woe betide anyone who gets in their way.
The band have been busy jamming and recording new material, and are set for a busy year after being confirmed as tour support on a series of huge dates with Oasis.
Speaking to BBC 6Music, guitarist Serge Pizzorno said the album will be structured like a soundtrack. “There’s a couple of songs that kind of went New York Stones and there’s definitely one song that sounds like Daft Punk and The Clash together, which is quite interesting.”
Pizzorno also revealed that the group have been working with Dan The Automator on the project. “We never knew he did the Gorillaz. It’s funny because we just knew him from DJ Shadow records and working with Blackalicious," he said.
“It was only when we were out there and saw the records on the wall. He took what we’d done already and added to it, which was great.”
