Kasabian For Glastonbury

Group to perform at Somerset bash

British indie giants Kasabian are set to make a surprise appearance this year's Glastonbury festival.

Kasabian are on the comeback trail after announcing details of their forthcoming third album 'West Rider Pauper Asylum'. The group recorded the album with American producer Dan The Automator at the controls, with guitarist Serge Pizzorno telling BBC 6Music "we've always been really funky and we've always had a real groove, and I think he helped with pulling things out and being more rhythmic rather than throwing loads of instruments at it."

The Leicester group recently kicked off a sold out UK tour with a three night stint in their hometown. The band will now go on the road almost continuously until Autumn, with Kasabian booked as the main support on the upcoming Oasis tour.

Kasabian are now also set to appear at Glastonbury on June 27th and have been billed as headliner Bruce Springsteen's "special guests".

The Boss is set to make his first ever appearance at the event, playing a set that will no doubt rank as one of the summer's true live music highlights. The legendary musician will be joined by Neil Young, who recently released his new album 'Fork In The Road'.

British acts also dominate the event with the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Doves and reformed Britpop heroes Blur also set to play slots at the Somerset event. Blur will headline, and are also set to play T In The Park as well as a two night performance in London's Hyde Park.

Glastonbury is set to take place between June 26th - 28th.
