Kanye West dropped past Jimmy Kimmel's show last night (October 9th) - for an intense showdown.

It was a sketch which became a phenomenon. Kanye West recorded an interview with Radio 1's Zane Lowe, an intense conversation about creativity and the nature of the artist within modern hip hop.

Quickly becoming a viral success, Jimmy Kimmel chose to spoof the interview on his talk show. Using child actors instead of the actor, Kanye West reacted furiously to the clip issuing a series of barbed remarks via Twitter.

The row escalated after a phone call between the two, with tabloid media seeming to hype the argument even further.

Last night (October 9th) Kanye West agreed to appear on Jimmy Kimmel's show, ending the tension between the two. One of the most open interviews the rapper has ever done, the Q&A contains the odd moment of largesse - well, this is Kanye, after all - but in the main the hip hop icon comes across as a literate, intelligent and deeply emotional artist.
