Last year, Kanye West was forced to appear in court to answer questions relating to a scuffle involving a member of the paparazzi.
Pleading not guilty, a hearing in March saw the rapper sentenced to two years probation. Now, though, TMZ has obtained the full court transcripts - and they're incredible.
Essentially, they feature Yeezy being Yeezy - treating the courtroom as a showroom, it's packed with humorous asides, cutting observations and plenty of ego.
Justifying himself, Kanye West told the photographer's lawyer, Nate Goldberg: "I'm in the business of trying to make dope shit for the world. You're in the business of representing scums and trying to make as much money as long as there's this lapse in the law."
As if that wasn't enough, the rapper also told the court that he was "the smartest fucking celebrity you've ever dealt with. I'm not Britney Spears."
Elsewhere, Kanye West related the problems faced by those in the public eye to the civil rights struggle of the 1960s. "I equate it to discrimination... I equate it to inequalities. We, as group of minorities here in L.A., as celebrities have to ban together to influence guys like this – guys trying to take the picture, guys trying to get the big win, guys trying to get the check."
