Kaiser Chiefs For Anti-Racism Show
Courteeners, Reverend Also Confirmed
Kaiser Chiefs, The Courteeners, Reverend and the Makers and Roll Deep are among the big names who are set to play the Love Music Hate Racism Indoor Carnival at the Magna in Rotherham on September 6th.
The Leeds indie icons are currently putting the finishing touches to their Mark Ronson produced third album, but are set to take time out of their schedule to aid a very work cause. Love Music Hate Racism has been very prominent in organizing large outdoor events, and aims to help promote awareness and combat racism in British society.
Amongst the stellar attractions on the bill are Reverend And The Makers, The Courteeners, Roll Deep and Sheffield electronica pioneers Cabaret Voltaire. The organizers of the event have billed the event as a response to the British National Party winning two council seats in this year's local elections.
In a statement the organizer said the event was an attempt to show "show the BNP and any would-be supporters that they are a minority and they are their racist, homophobic and generally discriminatory, repugnant views are not welcome in Rotherham, or anywhere in South Yorkshire."
