Julian Casablancas Box Set Plans
Debut album to be expanded
The Strokes star Julian Casablancas is set to release an expanded box set version of his forthcoming solo album.
Julian Casablancas had the doe eyed charm and laid back vocals to turn The Strokes into stars. Sure, the band's gang image made each member as important as each other but every decent group needs a great frontman.
When The Strokes were on hiatus in 2006 it was widely expected that Julian Casablancas would work on solo material. However despite a pretty damn cool collaboration with Pharrell Williams and Santigold nothing materialised.
Spending the past year in the studio, Julian Casablancas is now due to release his debut solo album. 'Phrazes For The Young' is set to hit the shops on November 2nd, but the singer has now confirmed plans for a lavish box set.
Expanded into a box set 'Phrazes For The Young' is set to be presented alongside a host of demos and B-sides. Containing the album on CD, 180-gram vinyl and a 48-page book autographed by the singer the new box set comes contained in an antique style box.
Priced at £55, the special edition box set version of 'Phrazes For The Young' is set to be released on December 18th.
However fans expecting new Strokes material recently had their hopes dampened. The Strokes have been working throughout the year on new material, but recent disagreements show how far off the band are from releasing a new album.
Speaking to the British press the singer claimed the band couldn't agree which tracks would go on the album, claiming that since The Strokes are now living apart from each other communication is more difficult.
Julian Casablancas is due to release the new box set version of 'Phrazes For The Young' on December 18th.
