Josh Homme For Arctic Monkeys
New Partnership Emerges
Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner has confirmed that American rocker Josh Homme is producing songs for the band's third album.
The former Queens Of The Stone Age singer has been working with the Sheffield band in a studio in Los Angeles. Turner confirmed the news to the BBC by saying "we've been recording the new album with Josh Homme. It's been going really well but it's still early stages at this point."
Homme hinted at a future collaboration onstage at the Reading Festival when his band Queens Of The Stone Age were appearing there. The singer has much experience in the world of production, lending his muscular mixing desk duties to many other bands. However, it remains to be seen how Arctic Monkeys will cope with his rock driven edge.
Arctic Monkeys previously demoed new material with Simian Mobile Disco man James Ford. Ford was responsible for production duties on Klaxons debut album, leading some to speculate that Arctic Monkeys were to take a dance direction.
There is no release date for the third Arctic Monkeys album.
