Johnny Marr To Score Film

Starring... Snoop Dogg?

Indie guitar icon Johnny Marr is set to score the forthcoming film 'The Big Bang' starring rap legend Snoop Dogg.

Johnny Marr has had a busy year. Continual rumours of The Smiths reformation amounted to nothing, although the guitarist did help curate the superfluous new greatest hits package 'The Sound Of The Smiths'.

Becoming a full time member of The Cribs the guitarist aided the band on their fourth album 'Ignore The Ignorant'. Johnny Marr's glistening guitar wrapped its way around the Jarman's anthemic indie rock to push The Cribs onto even greater heights.

A Top Ten success the album spawned rave reviews. On the band's subsequent British tour The Cribs played to packed venues as crowds sang back every word from their new hugely successful new album.

The band spent the summer storming festivals across Britain, and even held their own mini-event in Leeds and Reading after opting out of the massive twin site bash.

Still keen to branch out, Johnny Marr has confirmed that he is set to score a new film. The Manchester guitarist is currently working on the Tony Krantz directed 'The Big Bang', with Marr set to compose an entirely original score.

'The Big Bang' stars Antonio Banderas and Snoop Dogg, and follows a private detective as he searches for a former stripper.

Currently in post-production, the film is set to be released next year.

The Cribs are set to begin their latest UK tour tonight (December 2nd).
