John Frusciante On Solo LP

Flea, Johnny Marr guest star

Red Chili Peppers' renowned axeman John Frusciante has been discussing his next solo album, which is set to guest star Flea and Johnny Marr.

The guitar hero has had two spells in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, both of which have arguably resulted in the band's best work. As well as this, Frusciante is a prolific solo artist and is preparing to unleash his tenth album on the listening public.

In an interview with US magazine Music Radar the guitar hero revealed that "the drive to create music that is pure is my highest priority". He added "sometimes I'll get extremely technical in my approach, and other times I'll just kind of go with the gods of music."

The ever philosophical Frusciante concluded "I think an artist has to answer to whatever spirits are guiding him. Even if they're in conflict, that's OK."

Red Hot Chili Peppers are currently on hiatus, with each member working on their own project. Bass player Flea enrolled in music school, but has found time to appear on Frusciante's forthcoming album 'The Empyrean' alongside former Smiths guitar hero Johnny Marr.

John Frusciante is set to release his tenth solo album 'The Empyrean' on January 26th.
