Jesse Rose To Launch New Label

No hype, just music

Berlin based producer Jesse Rose is set to launch a secretive new label later this year.

The world of dance music is beset with trends, hype and catchy genre names which often leave fans feeling bewildered.

As a result, Berlin based producer Jesse Rose has set up a new label which aims to circumvent this. The playful house don came of age in London, before being drawn to the iconic club scene in Germany.

Setting up his Front Room Recordings label a decade ago, the producer has pushed himself to the forefront of the European dance scene. Jesse Rose also runs Made To Play, so he obviously knows a thing or two about releasing records.

Now the producer aims to launch a third label. Play It Down will be launched later this year, reports Resident Advisor, and Jesse Rose plans to maintain a bit of underground mystique by refusing to send out promo copies before release.

This means that Play It Down releases will come without hype, with fans forced to keep searching for their 12 inches. The label is due to open with a new release by Oliver $, with more planned.

Oliver $ releases 'Shaka Lao' today (June 26th) with other releases set to follow from Zombie Disco Squad and Polish artist SLG.

Every release is set to gain a limited edition run of 200, with upcoming plates from Zombie Disco Squad who will unleash their new EP 'King Kong'.

Elsewhere, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs are set to release 'Garden' in September.

Meanwhile, Jesse Rose retains close ties to the London dance scene. The producer is featured on the new compilation 'From The Seat Of Mount Olympus', remixing material from Hot Chip star Joe Goddard's roster.

Oliver $ - 'Shaka Lao' is out now.
