Neutral Milk Hotel singer Jeff Mangum is set to curate December's instalment of ATP.

They promised us something special, something they hadn't done before. Now ATP has delivered, with Neutral Milk Hotel frontman Jeff Mangum installed as the curator for December's event.

Perhaps best known for their classic album 'In The Aeroplane Over The Sea' Neutral Milk Hotel are as reclusive as they are acclaim. Mangum has rarely appeared live in a decade, only recently re-emerging to confirm some solo shows.

Asked to curate ATP, Jeff Mangum has confirmed a solo show at the event. For many people, this will be their first opportunity to witness Neutral Milk Hotel material performed live in any capacity.

Around forty acts are set to crowd the bill, mixing new talent with reformed cult heroes. Young Marble Giants will perform at the festival, with the long lost post-punk band recently re-emerging to widespread acclaim.

Elsewhere, The Raincoats will perform their cult debut album and The Magic Band will pay tribute to the late Captain Beefheart.

However ATP has always been a home to new talent, with the likes of The Olivia Tremor Control, Superchunk, A Hawk And A Hacksaw and more set to perform. Elephant 6 mainstays The Apples in stereo will appear at the event, fresh from another bout of psychedelic studio madness.

The first of two ATP events to take place this December, tickets for the Jeff Mangum instalment are due to go on sale from 9am this Friday (February 18th).

ATP curated by Jeff Mangum takes place between December 2nd - 4th.
