Jarvis Cocker For Gonzales Show
Singer joins London residency
Indie icon Jarvis Cocker is set to join cult songwriter Gonzales at his forthcoming London residency.
Gonzales has one of the most bizarre careers in modern pop music. Talented from an early age the piano player worked hard and gained entry to McGill University where he studied music.
However soon after graduating the songwriter was snapped up by a major label. Working with his band Son the singer somehow failed to find the success he craved - possibly due to songs such as 'Making A Jew Cry'.
Becoming a solo artist he embraced his Jewish heritage, becoming an MC and crafting electro music. Later working with Feist and Peaches the Canadian singer became a cult favourite yet has never reached the mainstream.
Now based in Paris, Gonzales is currently working on a series of songs for the comedy film 'Get Him To The Greek'. Starring Russell Brand, the soundtrack will be boosted by the inclusion of Jarvis Cocker.
The one time Pulp singer recently released the solo album 'Further Complications' to huge acclaim. Produced by Steve Albini the songwriter is now set to follow this with an appearance at Gonzales' London residency.
Taking place at the Pigalle venue, Jarvis Cocker is set to appear on November 4th. Other dates of the residency are set to feature guest stars, with Gonzales set to confirm these closer to the time.
Gonzales will play the following tour dates:
November
4 London Pigalle
11 London Pigalle
18 London Pigalle
25 London Pigalle
