More additions for sold out event

American soul sensation Janelle Monae is amongst the latest additions to Bestival.

Emerging this summer, Janelle Monae has an unusual twist on a classic sound. Musically, the American singer recalls the classic 60s soul sound of Aretha Franklin but with some extremely modern aspects.

Putting painstaking imagination into her live show, Janelle Monae mixes an unusual light show with some bustin' moves. Releasing her debut album earlier this year, the singer has gained a cult following.

Set to play a series of joint dates with of Montreal, Janelle Monae seems to cross boundaries between indie, R&B, soul and pop. Before that tour commences, however, fans can get a glimpse of the singer at this year's Bestival.

Long since sold out, Bestival is continuing to add to its line up. Soul sensation Janelle Monae is set to appear the Isle Of Wight event, with other newcomers including vintage mento troupe Jolly Boys.

Leading an early morning work out will be 90s hero Mr Motivator. Once a crusader on behalf of housewive's calf muscles, the fitness guru is now set to return and help the Bestival fans work off those extra calories.

Meanwhile, organisers have confirmed a number of unique attractions including Club Dada, Polka Tent and Black Dahlia Artists.

As ever, competition for the fancy dress entries will be fantastic. This year's theme is 'fantasy' with Rob da Bank clearly overjoyed by the progress made on site so far. "I'm down on the Isle of Wight at the mo’ supposedly having a breather before Bestival but actually just getting very excited about all the latest fun and games we have to announce" he said.

"Janelle Monáe is without a doubt a superstar, fame and glory aside she just writes the best songs since Prince...technicolour funk mayhem coming to Bestival only this year! The Jolly Boys were so brilliant at Camp Bestival we had to get them back for Besti and they'll be gracing the main stage - undoubtedly a Bestival moment waiting to happen."
