Jamie T Returns

New EP to coincide with tour

Wimbledon’s foul mouthed troubadour Jamie T is due to return this summer with a new EP and live shows in the pipeline.

A teenage maverick, Jamie T made a name for himself with a series of hand pressed releases. Through his own Pacemaker Records imprint Jamie T released the EP ‘Betty And The Selfish Sons’ which alerted music fans to the potential of this young songwriter.

Sounding like Billy Bragg raised on garage music, or perhaps Mike Skinner with tourettes, Jamie T burst into the national consciousness with his mixtape ‘Panic Prevention Disco’. Given away free at shows, it demonstrated his influences while also containing demo versions of his own material.

The single ‘Salvador’ was released in the summer of 2007, and after becoming a radio staple the song raced up the charts. Jamie T’s debut album ‘Panic Prevention’ soon followed, a demonstration of a visceral new songwriting talent.

Named after the treatment the singer endured to fix teenage panic attacks, the album went on to garner superb reviews with ‘Panic Prevention’ being nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. Since then, however, little has been heard from the singer.

Jamie T is currently putting the finishing touches to his second album. According to report Florence Welch is due to appear on the album, which has been named ‘Kings And Queens’. Fans have already heard one track from the forthcoming record, with Jamie T placing the video to the track ‘Fire Fire’ on his Myspace.

Forthcoming EP ‘Sticks And Stones’ is due to be released on June 29th. Containing four tracks, the release will come ahead of the new album which is due to emerge later in the summer.

Jamie T is set to release ‘Sticks And Stones’ on June 29th. The singer has also confirmed the following UK tour dates:
