Jamie Lidell Tour Blog

Soul man and electronic producer Jamie Lidell has been keeping an online tour blog after being picked to support Elton John on a series of massive European dates.

Lidell began life producing abrasive electronic music before deciding to use his soulful voice. Clearly inspired by greats such as Otis Redding and Sam Cooke, Lidell's new album 'Jim' is his most successful amalgamation of these two styles to date.

Lidell has been picked a the tour support on Elton John's massive European tour. A bizarre choice perhaps, but the singer hasn't turned down the chance and is keeping an online blog to update fans on his progress. Lidell describes meeting Elton:

"Elton's hounds greet me. 2 Soft companions and the big man himself. He's hanging in one corner of a leather sofa his feet up. Looking very relaxed in a shiny black Adidas tracksuit, rose tinted glasses and some serious emerald like raw stones from each ear. Here, I think to myself is a man completely content living his own legend."

However Lidell hasn't let the tour go to his head. "We could be in Munich right now. Birmingham maybe. The security give it away through. There's one or two fellows that must be hamburgers. Not meat heads. Something more destinguished but solid none the less. They are light on the garnish here though."

Jamie Lidell is currently on tour with Elton John.
