Leaving LCD Soundsystem behind, James Murphy has embarked on a new role - as the world's busiest man.
Hooking up with 2ManyDJs to form Despacio, the producer is also collaborating with IBM on a project which will turn the entire US Open tennis tournament into music.
Now it seems that James Murphy might also be planning to add New Order to his production credits. Speaking to Consequence of Sound, Bernard Sumner was asked outright if the band would ever work with the DFA lynchpin.
His response? "I can't talk about any of that just yet, but there is news, we're in the process."
The move would make perfect sense, with New Order frequently cited by Murphy as a huge influence. Of course, James Murphy is also in demand, having recently overseen sessions with Arcade Fire for their 'Reflektor' project.
In related news, Bernard Sumner has confirmed plans to release his autobiography. Titled 'Chapter And Verse (New Order, Joy Division And Me)' it will be available from September 25th.
UPDATE Sadly, this has been ruled out. Sorry folks!
Dear click-baiting websites who all have our email - there is zero truth to the DFA/New Order news. How come no one bothers to check facts?✅— DFA RECORDS (@dfarecords) September 1, 2014
