James Murphy To Score New Film

LCD Soundsystem star James Murphy has confirmed details of his first ever film score.

James Murphy is one of the most influential figures in the dance world. As the co-founder of DFA Records in New York the producer has helped release some of the most acclaimed albums of the past decade.

Yet it is for his own production that Murphy is best known. Using the name LCD Soundsystem the New York dance don has released two seminal albums, merging dance with rock in an unholy beat fusion.

Due to return later this year with his long awaited third album, LCD Soundsystem mainman James Murphy has now confirmed details of his first ever film soundtrack.

Working on the new film 'Greenberg' James Murphy has teamed up with director Noah Baumbach. The forthcoming movie stars Ben Stiller and Rhys Ifans and is due to be released on March 26th.

Working on the soundtrack, James Murphy has crafted eleven solo tracks. Due to be collected on the forthcoming album, the LCD Soundsystem producer has gathered together suitable music for the score.

The soundtrack album for 'Greenberg' is due for release on March 26th. Opening with 'Jet Airliner' by The Steve Miller Band the soundtrack continues with a variety of James Murphy tracks and artists such as The Sonics, Galaxie 500 and more.
