New material could be due...

James Blake and Bon Iver singer Justin Vernon could be set to collaborate on new material.

Two of the years defining artists, James Blake and Bon Iver would appear to be moving in opposite directions. Yet if a new Twitter posting is to be believed, the pair are busy collaborating on new material.

James Blake broke the news, sending a very simple message to fans: "24th August 2011 - James Blake & Bon Iver 'Fall Creek Boys Choir'".

So is this a release date? Placing on Amazon and iTunes have yet to appear, although it should be noted that Fall Creek is the name of a town in Wisconsin where Justin Vernon owns a studio.

On the surface an odd pairing, Justin Vernon's voice has actually made an intrusion into bass music. Kanye West uses Vernon on his album 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' sparking widespread use of the 'Woods' sample.

UK Funky producer Deadboy re-worked the chorus line into 'Lost In The Woods' earlier this year, a thoughtful mixture of dancefloor ready producer and the keening tones of Justin Vernon's voice.

James Blake, meanwhile, has moved steadily into the singer-songwriter vein. Releasing his debut album earlier this year, the singer has added an adept Joni Mitchell cover to his live set.

Both artists are touring the UK this Autumn, although neither will be in the same city at the same time. Dates for both are below...
