Jake Bugg Tops Album Chart

Knocking Mumford & Sons from the number one spot

Jake Bugg's self-titled debut album has entered the UK album chart at number one replacing Mumford & Sons' 'Babel' album.

In Clash's review of the album, Simon Butcher said "Imagine Donovan singing about White Lightning and you’ve got Jake Bugg; a precocious talent fusing retro folk with  blistering contemporary rock riffs" and noted that "With a distinctive sound that’s certain to have mass appeal, this teen troubadour is set to smash it."

Smash it he has indeed done. Congratulations to Jake Bugg on the well deserved album chart number one.

Mumford & Sons will of course not be losing any sleep as their second album is currently doing great business with America falling to their charms and 'Babel' reaching number one in the Stateside album chart.
