Jack White has indulged in many bizarre schemes.
The White Stripes once played a show in a remote location of Canada - consisting of just one note. Recently installing a voice-o-graph at his Third Man HQ, the guitarist is committed to recording techniques existing outside of the norm.
Now, though, Jack White has gone one further. On Record Store Day (April 19th, write it down) the guitarist plans to release 'the world's fastest record' - performed, recorded and released within a matter of minutes.
Performing new single 'Lazaretto' at the Blue Room in Third Man's Nashville HQ, Jack White will then rush the 'direct-to-acetate' recording to United Record Pressing.
Pressings of the 45 RPM disc will be packaged in a sleeve utilising imagery from the show, with Jack White promising that "as long as there are fans in line waiting to buy the single, United will continue to press and deliver them to Third Man to sell. Even if it takes all day."
