Jack White Not Working With Slash
Guns N Roses icon confirms
Detroit guitar slinger Jack White has turned down the chance to work with Slash on his collaboration laden new album.
Jack White likes to work. Hard. The Detroit guitarist previously owned an upholstery business, and has taken this work ethic into the world of rock 'n' roll.
In addition to leading The White Stripes the guitarist is also a member of The Raconteurs and recently appeared behind the drums on The Dead Weather's debut album. One project he sadly won't be appearing on is the forthcoming album by Slash.
The one time Guns N Roses icon has been working on the new album for some time, assembling a glittering array of guest stars. The likes of Flea, Dave Grohl and Alice Cooper have all been confirmed to appear, with many more rumoured.
In a new interview Slash reveals that the one musician he wanted, however, was Jack White. "I wanted to get Jack White to sing on something, but he didn't want to sing," Slash told Musicradar.
"He said I'll play drums, I'll play guitar, but I don't wanna sing. He was one guy that I wanted to work with. Pretty much everyone else that I went after I managed to get."
Speaking to fans on Twitter, Slash revealed that he hoped to have his new album completed by the end of the month.
Of course, this wouldn't be the first guitar god Jack White has worked with. The Detroit musician recently hooked up with Jimmy Page and The Edge to work on the documentary film 'It Might Get Loud', discussing their life long love affair with the guitar.
