Ivor Novello Surprises

All The Results From Awards

The Ivor Novello Awards took place at lunchtime yesterday, and as usual had a host of surprises amongst the glittering array of stars gathered in the audience.

One of the biggest surprises of the night was the appearance of Amy Winehouse, who astonished onlookers by actually making it to the ceremony. Sadly, she wasn't on time to collect her award for "Best Song Musically And Lyrically" - and sent her dad instead. The bemused Winehouse father thanked her manager, before ambling offstage clutching the award in honour of Amy's song "Love Is A Losing Game".

The glitzy event was held in the Grovesnor House Hotel, London, and amongst the winners were Radiohead who picked up a "Best Album" award for "In Rainbows". Sadly, the band couldn't make the ceremony. Also on the winners podium were Phil Collins (International Achievement) and Jazzie B who picked up the Inspiration Award.

The Ivor Novellos have become famous in recent years for throwing up unusual winners, and this year was no exception as "Songwriter Of The Year" went to... Mika. Good grief.
