Isle Of Wight Headline Hints

Organiser rules out Oasis

Isle Of Wight Festival organiser John Giddings has dropped hints over who may be headlining this year's event.

The historic event has risen to become one of the nation's biggest musical events of the summer. The original festival was hippy love fest, and though the current incarnation shares a love of music it has thankfully left the rhetoric behind.

Rave rock giants The Prodigy have already been confirmed for the event. The band are due to drop new album 'Invaders Must Die' soon, and have also been confirmed for Scotland's Rock Ness festival.

Speaking to NME, Giddings ruled out Oasis and Kings Of Leon - both strongly rumoured to be playing the event. "It's definitely neither of those," he said. "I can honestly tell you it's neither."

He added: "We're negotiating with the headliners for the Saturday and Sunday. They're definitely guitar bands."

Last year the festival was headlined by Sex Pistols, The Police and Kaiser Chiefs.

Isle Of Wight festival kicks off on June 12th.
