Introducing... Giant Giant Sand

Howe Gelb unveils 12 piece collective

Howe Gelb has introduced fans to his new 12 member strong collective Giant Giant Sand.

An utterly unique songwriting talent, Howe Gelb has spent almost two decades tapping into the dark corners of the American soul. Fusing country textures with rock and left field tendencies, the singer has led Giant Sand to critical acclaim.

Now the artist is planning to move into more widescreen areas. Giant Giant Sand is a twelve member strong collective, with Howe Gelb using musicians from Denmark as well as local Arizona natives.

A collaborative project, Giant Giant Sand are apparently working on an ambitious country-rock opera entitled 'Tucson 2012'. Set to be released in June, Howe Gelb is currently gearing up to play some British shows.

Part of the Floating Palace shows, Howe Gelb played the Barbican last night (February 8th). Hitting Brighton's Dome venue on February 11th, the shows end in Warwick with a concert at the Arts Centre on February 12th.
