The Week's Releases

With Christmas fast approaching its time for the charts to magically change from being the arbiters of public taste into a no-go zone for anyone with ears.

With the festive flood of novelty singles, jingles, jangles and other melodious nightmares fast approaching it seems only The Wombats can save us. Yes, The Wombats and their new cohort against the tidal wave of Yule tide landfill Mr Les Dennis. Their new single 'Is This Christmas?' is released this week, alongside Peter Kay's spoof too far 'X-Mas Song'.

Thoroughly non-festive offerings are available alongside the deluge of mirth and merriment, with Portishead providing an antidote to Christmas cheer with 'Magic Doors'.
