Iglu And Hartly SXSW Arrest

Band in naked brawl with security

The hot temperatures and wild atmosphere of SXSW can bring out the worst in people - with a member of Iglu And Hartly being arrested for assaulting a security guard in his hotel.

One of the world's biggest music showcase events, South by South West sees the city of Austin, Texas being turned over to a huge array of new groups.

Iglu And Hartly are a hotly tipped American five piece. Perhaps better known in Britain than the United States, Iglu And Hartly are signed to cult imprint Another Music = Another Kitchen. Hailing from California, their distinctive brand of indie rock has found favour in the UK becoming radio favourites.

Debut album '& Then Boom' was released late last year, polarising audiences with its low brow humour and party style alternative rock. Heavily slated by some, the group nonetheless hit the UK Top Five with the single 'In This City'.

Band member Michael Anderson Jarvis was arrested on Thursday (March 19th) after allegedly assaulting a security whilst half naked.

The band had been running around the Austin hotel in the middle of the night when they were approached by security. Jarvis didn't take kindly to this and apparently assaulted one of the guards repeatedly, resulting in his arrest.

Michael Anderson Jarvis has been charged for assaulting a public servant. The group have yet to comment on the incident, which followed a successful performance at the event.
