Punk icon Iggy Pop was the victim of a cruel theft after a truck full of equipment belonging to his band Iggy And The Stooges was stolen from a festival they were playing at in Montreal.
The truck full of musical equipment was stolen from outside the Embassy Suite Hotel in the Canadian city early on Monday morning (August 4th). The vehicle was packed with equipment including a flying V guitar, numerous amps and cabinets as well as a drumkit.
Among the many stolen items were numerous pieces of equipment that could never be replaced. Current bass player with Mike Watt served his musical apprenticeship in legendary US punk band The Minutemen, and the bass guitar he has played throughout his career was among the stolen items.
Iggy And The Stooges will march on, however, and will complete all remaining dates with rented and borrowed equipment.
