Iggy Pop Hits Later, Leaving Behind A Smouldering Ruin

Yep, it's really that good...

Clash was lucky – and we use the word 'luck' in its most direct sense – to catch Iggy Pop at London's Royal Albert Hall at the weekend.

Simply put: it was superb, a type of raw, animalistic rock 'n' roll that many had long since feared lost to the world.

Backed by an incredible band – Joshua Homme! Matt Helders! – Iggy Pop took his live show to Later… last night (May 17th) and tore the place up.

Performing new track 'Sunday' and classic cut 'Lust For Life' the frontman, punk pioneer, and questing spirit lived up to mythology, throwing himself around the stage in death-defying abandon.

It's one of the finest TV performances you'll see this year – trust us on that.
