Bloc Party

The first details of this year's Iceland Airwaves festival have emerged, with the 10th anniversary event set to take place between October 15th - 19th.

Airwaves is renowned as one of the premiere hunting grounds for hungry A&R men looking for new talent. The event combines big name headliners (which last year included Bloc Party) with some of the brightest emerging talent from across Europe and beyond.

With headline acts still to be announced, amongst the first names to be revealed for this year's extra special event are C.S.S., Young Knives and These New Puritans. Of the relative unknowns heading to the festival, Moshi Moshi signings Florence And The Machine are perhaps the most widely tipped group to break into the mainstream.

Alongside the host of acts performing this year are a series of clubnights and other showcase events, including the infamous Blue Lagoon hangover party. As if that wasn't enough to tempt you, then sponsors Icelandair have announced plans to launch a new package scheme that will fly from London, Manchester and Glasgow.
