Hot Chip Confirm UK Tour

Electro pop mavericks Hot Chip have confirmed details of their first headline UK tour in some time.

Hot Chip began life almost a decade ago. Writing music that blended Prince style white boy funk with underground electronic styles, the band soon came to the attention of Moshi Moshi who released their debut album 'Coming On Strong'.

Moving onto major label territory, the single 'Over And Over' became a cult hit. Hot Chip followed the success of their album 'The Warning' with the pop behemoth that was 'Ready For The Floor'.

Effortlessly catchy, it became one of last year's most popular singles. Parent album 'Made In The Dark' scorched its way up the charts before Hot Chip set out on a celebratory tour of the UK.

Since then, the trail has gone quiet. A few live shows followed, with Joe Goddard breaking off to record his own solo album. Released on his own acclaimed Greco Roman label, Clash recently introduced the producer to funky house guru Roska.

Now in a new message posted on their website Hot Chip have roared back into action. The band have confirmed details of a lengthy nationwide tour, culminating in two nights at the Brixton Academy in London.

“As events relentlessly continue to unfold inside the confines of Camp Hot Chip, we can reveal some diverting facts and interesting details of our plans for next year. There will be a new album, set for release in early parts of next year, to warm the cockles of your soul right in the middle of the bleak mid-winter. We're just completing the finishing touches right now, and we're also gearing up for a return, possibly triumphant, to the live arena, as a UK tour is also in the offing for February.
