Horrors For Lounge On The Farm
Merton Farm event expands
Kent summer bash Lounge On The Farm has grabbed one of the year's most talked about acts with The Horrors set to perform at the event.
The Horrors arrived amid a blizzard of hype in 2006. With a formidable image, a clutch of great singles and some stunning live shows the band seemed set for stardom. However a lacklustre debut album saw The Horrors return to the rehearsal studio to lick their wounds.
Returning with a renewed sense of purpose the group's second album 'Primary Colours' has already gathered plaudits from critics hailing it as a landmark release. The Horrors have already previewed one track, with free download 'Sea Within A Sea' stunning fans with its breath-taking ambition.
The Horrors are the latest name to be confirmed for Lounge On The Farm, and will play the Friday night headline slot at the Cow Shed. Held on a genuine, real-life farm in Kent the three day event recently announced a clutch of new additions to its bill.
Scottish singer Edwyn Collins will perform at the event, and the former Orange Juice singer will be joined by the likes of Mr Scruff, The Aliens and Mercury nominated jazz types Portico Quartet.
The festival also supports dance music with dubstep guru Zomby joining proceeding alongside demented electro performer Drums of Death.
Lounge Of The Farm has already confirmed a number of top names including the James Taylor Quartet, psychedelic types Gong, Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip and many more. Festival organiser Matt Gough is clearly over the moon with the bill so far, saying it is "shaping up to be the best we've ever had at Merton Farm. We've got some huge acts for the festival this summer. Roll on July!”
Lounge On The Farm is set to take place between July 10th - 12th.
