Festival expands once more

Acclaimed summer music event Hop Farm has announced that it will be extending its capacity for its 2009 installment.

One of the new festivals on the block, Hop Farm has risen from humble origins to become one of the summer's most exciting events. Held, funnily enough, on a farm last year's event had a star-packed bill that included sets from Primal Scream and iconic Canadian singer Neil Young.

Run by Vince Power's music group, Hop Farm will increase its capacity to 50,000 - almost double last year's. The case had gone to a magistrate's court after the local council refused their permission, but Music Group won the case on appeal.

With no branding or sponsorship, Hop Farm is a reminder of how festivals used to be in the old days. The event has no VIP areas, with each punter entering as equal to each other, ready to take in some incredible music.

Hop Farm takes place on Paddock Farm, Kent between 3rd - 5th July. Tickets and line up details will be released soon.
