US group The Hold Steady have found success on these shores with latest album "Stay Positive", and the band will be set to pack in the crowds with their latest UK tour.
The band have bubbled under for years, beloved by a select few but unable to break through to the mainstream. The Hold Steady combine brilliant lyricism with a classic rock sound that recalls prime influences but has an identity of its own.
The Brooklyn based group released "Stay Positive" earlier this year, and it promptly crashed straight into the UK Top 20. "Stay Positive" was the band's fourth album, it was preceded by the single "Sequestered In Memphis" and was streamed in its entirety on the band's myspace page prior to its release.
The Hold Steady will play the following UK dates:
September 29th - Oxford, Academy
September 30th - Manchester, Academy
October 1st - Glasgow, ABC
October 2nd - Wolverhampton, Wulfrun Hall
October 4th - Bristol, University Anson Rooms
October 5th - Nottingham, Rock City
October 6th - Portsmouth, Pyramids
October 8th - London, Roundhouse
