Glastonbury Weather Update

Heavy rain showers forecast

Festival wash out

Bad news for Festival goers this weekend as the latest update from the Met Office predicts heavy, thundery rain showers for the Glastonbury festival.

The latest update for the weekend reports "A ridge of high pressure across the area today will decline by Friday to allow an increasing risk of heavy showers". Could this be a repeat of previous mudbath blighted years?

For Friday, the first 'proper' day of music at Glastonbury, the Met Office states, "A dry and mostly sunny morning. Cloud is likely to build during the afternoon, with the likelihood of heavy, thundery showers affecting the site from mid to late afternoon and perhaps into the evening". While, for Saturday and Sunday, "Continuing warm with sunny periods but still with the likelihood of heavy, thundery showers in the afternoons and evenings. Winds generally light but some brief, strong gusts could occur near the heavy showers or thunderstorms."

So, pack the suntan lotion... and waterproofs.

UK weather innit!
