Heavenly Weekend Planned
Manics, Orton And More For Label Bash
Legendary independent label Heavenly are set to celebrate turning 18 with a massive party last from September 12th-14th, featuring Manic Street Preachers, Saint Etienne, Beth Orton and more.
The label has doggedly stuck to its guns for two decades, becoming one of the most renowned indies in the UK. Where others have fallen by the way-side Heavenly has go on, fueled by a bloody-minded determination as well as an all consuming love of music.
The weekend long party will feature some of the label's top acts from both past and present. The all-star roster will include Saint Etienne, Beth Orton and Manic Street Preachers, as well as a host of guest appearances.
Called "Forever Heavenly", this mini-festival will contain some very special and ultra-exclusive performances. Beth Orton will perform breakthrough album "Trailer Park" in its entirety, and Nada Surf will also perform a special set drawing on their classic LP "Let Go". Manic Street Preacher were only on the label for a matter of months, but have agreed to perform the half dozen or so tracks Heavenly released of theirs in tribute to a true maverick spirit.
Among the others acts playing are The Magic Numbers, Ed Harcourt, The Little Ones and reformed blues-rockers The 22-20s.
Forever heavenly takes place in London's Southbank Centre between September 12th-14th.
