'From Manchester To Japan With Love'

A new fundraiser has been organised by Hacienda veterans to aid the ongoing relief effort in Japan.

The Hacienda stood at the centre of club culture during a pivotal time in electronic music, and has such had an incalculable effect on British life. However the club's legacy now extends far across the world.

Fac 51 veterans have organised several tours, taking their message around the globe. Making friends in different countries, the organisers watched in disbelief as the disaster in Japan unfolded.

As a result, the Hacienda crew are organising a special benefit. Taking place in Manchester venue Sankeys, the massive event will feature a raft of special appearances.

The one off show will be headlined by Basement Jaxx, who have a special attachment to Japan. The band have already played several fundraisers, including stepping in at the last minute to perform in Fabric.

Due to travel to Manchester at their own cost, Basement Jaxx have kindly waived any fee in order to help the cause further. Topping the bill, the duo will be joined by special sets from Justin Robertson, Peter Hook and more.

Local heroes Delphic are due to play a DJ set, while Hacienda veteran Dave Haslam will roll back the years. Later, 808 State are due to perform while Jon Da Silva will get the crowd moving.

Mixing DJ sets with live music, the one off night will feature performances from Rowetta, Zutech, Micron and more. Tickets are already on sale, with 'From Manchester To Japan With Love x' due to be an extremely emotional night.

All profits will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross, with fans able to donate online at a Just Giving page.

'From Manchester To Japan With Love x' is due to take place on April 22nd.
