Wu-Tang rapper GZA has outlined plans for a new album and a graphic novel.

GZA ain't called 'The Genius' for nothing y'know. Always keen to broaden his mind, the Wu-Tang mainstay visited a few college campuses last year, chatting to American students about his life and work.

Continuing pushing ahead, GZA has been focussing on a new album for some time. Now the rapper has revealed a few more details, alongside plans for a graphic novel.

Chatting to The Fader (via FACT) the rapper revealed that he is close to completing a "coming of age" graphic novel which will be called 'Chlorine'. The multi-narrative text will focus on "four kids in a period of the summer, off of school, and it takes place near a pool called Chlorine. It’s more like a coming of age story, an anthology, 12 different stories combined into one”.

GZA is also working on a new studio album, which seemingly has sci-fi inflections. Chatting with The Fader, the rapper explained that his new material follows “a journey into the cosmos…I was interested in science at a very early age, but not to the point where I wanted to go to school and study and be a physicist."

Continuing, the rapper insisted that he had been interested in "learning things about the stars and planets, the workings of the atoms and molecules and elements and knowing that we are part of this whole universal structure and it’s all fascinating. It’s something to write about.”

ClashMusic writer Sam Walker-Smart caught up with the GZA after a recent London show. Finding the rapper to be on typically imperious form, you can read the full piece HERE.
