Wu Tang rapper hits the UK

Wu Tang Clan rapper GZA is set to play a short series of British tour dates early next year.

Despite being largely inactive for around a decade, Wu Tang Clan remain legendary figures in hip hop. Each member of the Staten Island crew has iconic status in their own right, and none more so than GZA.

The rapper released his seminal solo album 'Liquid Swords' in the mid 90s - a game changer both for Wu Tang Clan and for the wider hip hop scene.

Recently shelving work on 'Liquid Swords 2: The Return Of The Shadowboxer’, the rapper has promised to deliver new material in 2012. As ever with all things Wu-related, it's best to take this with a pinch of salt...

Recently visiting Harvard to address the Black Men's Forum, the rapper is continuing to seek inspiration. Now GZA is to take his search to the UK after announcing a short series of British shows.

Taking place in January, the tour opens in Sheffield's O2 Academy 2. HItting Oxford on January 28th, the tour also contains dates in Liverpool and Bournemouth.

Ending with a rare visit to London, GZA is set to perform at the capital's O2 Academy Islington.

Tickets are on sale now.
