Artist Worked With Bowie, Stones

Guy Peellaert, the legendary artist who designed iconic cover art for David Bowie and the Rolling Stones, has died aged 74 it has been announced.

The artist has been suffering from a long illness. Born in Brussels, Peelaert's work has been exhibited across the world, with his reputation not just stop at the border of rock 'n' roll.

A well known graphic designer, his painted style imbued such albums as Bowie's 'Diamond Dogs' and the Rolling Stones' 'It's Only Rock 'n' Roll' with a rare elegance and glamour.

In addition to his work in the music sphere, Peelaert designed some iconic movie posters including 'Taxi Driver'. Peelaert also collaborated with Nik Cohn on a book of rock 'n' roll fantasies.

Guy Peelaert has died, aged 74.
