Guns N Roses Drummer In Rehab

Steve Adler Ordered To Treat Addiction

Former Guns N Roses drummer Steve Adler has been told by a Los Angeles court commissioner that he can only avoid prison if he attends a drug rehab programme, it has been reported.

Adler was a founder member of the group and played on the all-time rock classic 'Appetite For Destruction'. Fall outs with Axl Rose and a spiralling drug addiction saw the sticksman thrown out of the band, however, and Adler has struggled with his addictions ever since.

Adler was thrown out of Guns N Roses in 1990, a decision which many view as being the start of the group's decline. The band recently released their long-awaited new studio album 'Chinese Democracy' after 17 years of preparation.

Now 43, the musician has been ordered to attend a state-sanctioned drug rehabilitation programme. Adler was arrested in July and charged with possession of, and being under the influence of, illegal drugs.

He has since appeared on the VH1 reality television show 'Celebrity Rehab With Dr Drew'.
