Guns N Roses Deny Tour Rumours

American rock gods Guns N Roses may or may not be touring in 2009, but one thing's for sure - guitar player Richard Fortus sure as hell didn't tell you.

With 'Chinese Democracy' in the bag and lead singer Axl Rose quoted as saying it is the first of a trilogy, guitarist Richard Fortus allegedly claimed in a new interview that the band would be embarking on a two year tour that would include a St. Louis date. Not so, it seems.

“OK, it seems that I am being misquoted once again,” Fortus told fans in a statement. “I never said that Gn’R would be playing St. Louis, nor did I say that we will be doing free shows or that we are starting a two-year tour in March! Selective hearing. Never said it.”

However, conversely just because he didn't say it doesn't mean it isn't true. The wording of the statement merely points out he never announced a tour, not that they have no live plans.
