Guns N' Roses leaker to walk free?

File-sharer strikes probation deal

The Los Angeles man charged with leaking the new Guns N' Roses album 'Chinese Democracy' has apparently struck a deal with prosecutors that will keep him out of prison.

Kevin Cogill got himself in hot water recently after leaking a number of tracks from the long-awaited new album. He was accused of uploading the material to his music site, antiquiet. But according to a new interview with the lawyer of the accused, the music lover will not have to do jail time: "We're looking at straight probation as a result of taking this deal," commented the lawyer.

The prohibition will apparently include minimal restrictions and will last for around a year.
