Cult Classic In The Making?
Gary Oldman

Okay…admittedly it has every potential to linger in straight to DVD hell. The sort of stinker that's circumnavigated in all future interviews. However, if the script is good enough it could also have cult classic written all over it. The title alone ‘Guns, Girls & Gambling’ has a supremely satisfying ‘does what it says on the tin’ ring. But it’s the crazy casting for this modern day ‘It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World’ that’s really got Clash’s attention.

A veritable tripartite of bad boy actors, Gary Oldman, Christian Slater and Dane Cook are all pencilled in to star in Michael Winnicks forthcoming comedy adventure. Now there’s a mixed bag of talent if ever there was! We haven’t heard much from the criminally underused Mr Oldman these last couple of years (despite his small role in Nolan’s Batman films and the forgettable ‘Book Of Eli’) so it’s with no small amount of glee that we learn that he’s to play the daddy of all Elvis impersonators against Slaters straight man and Cook’s corrupt sheriff.

The word from the trade papers is this..."The story throws Elvis impersonators, Indians, modern cowboys, a 6-foot-tall blond assassin, a frat boy, a corrupt sheriff and a prostitute into a chase for a priceless American Indian artifact stolen during a poker game at a casino."

Couldn’t have said it any better myself. Right there you’ve got all the reason you ever need to see this film.
